Social norms misperception among voters in the 2020 US presidential election

We aim to explain the dynamics enabling spikes in hate crimes by examining underlying social-psychological processes behind it. see these as captured empowerment among racists who themselves “victims” and their position strengthened majority support from public for actions. Building on previous research, we investigated role social norm misperception (false consensus pluralistic ignorance), following elections plays a possible, generally occurring mechanism, with particular focus Republican Party supporters.
